Creatives and Citizens Discuss 2018 Dallas Cultural Plan + How to Rebuild Dallas’ Culture
The City of Dallas, through its Office of Cultural Affairs (OCA), launched a year-long process to create a cultural plan—the first since 2002! The city's cultural priorities, determine how Dallas residents experience art, music, and literature in their daily lives.
A cultural plan is an inclusive process that engages residents, artists, art organizations, and other sectors to identify cultural needs, opportunities, and resources. It allows a city to think strategically about how to use its resources to help communities achieve their goals.
HelloPitch launched the first phase for the media relations outreach plan. We created awareness and encouraged all Dallas citizens to participate. We went beyond press releases by focusing on local landmark issues, trending topics and favorite local art, to ask citizens to have a voice about their culture. HelloPitch engaged bloggers and influencers to build excitement and momentum.
Our goal included engaging and partnering with dozens of organizations, individuals and companies.
The media relations push was a success from neighborhood publications, mom bloggers, art news to general news, HelloPitch was able to surround the City of Dallas regarding the 2018 cultural plan.
